When I first came to Telebort as an intern, I was a bit excited and also nervous since this is the first time I work at Telebort. Besides, I am the only one who is a UNIMAS intern and I come from Sarawak in East Malaysia to work in Penang which is very far away from my hometown. Although at the beginning it seems a bit hard for me to get used to the new working lifestyle, I am glad that all my colleagues at Telebort are very friendly and also working very close to me such as friends although we are from different backgrounds.
During my internship, I faced the problem of handling multiple tasks at the same time since my time management skills is not very good. So, by writing down all my assigned tasks in the “Weekly Goals” which is a self-management tool provided by Telebort, I can execute my tasks efficiently and utilize all my time to finish every task properly every week to improve my time management skills and working efficiency. In addition, I lacked the confidence to be assigned as a Computer Science teacher at the beginning since this is a new experience for me to teach kids and teens coding. By seeking guidance from my Telebort seniors, they always have time to have mocking teaching with me as my self-preparation before teaching, which helps me to boost my teaching confidence.
Telebort is a great education technology workspace for me to have the valuable chances to learn a lot of new skills apart from the Computer Science field that I never had during my schooling time before. There is an energetic and powerful team at Telebort which is good to become a role model for my mutual growth. Besides, Telebort also provides unlimited access to various learning platforms such as Udemy, Coursera and so on for every team member so that everyone can freely search for any learning materials or do any interesting research that they want. Working at Telebort, I can explore or develop my potential ability since I didn’t expect that teaching kids and teens programming is very fun, and I become better at handling children and also improving my programming skills by imparting knowledge to students.
Yes, I really enjoy working at Telebort because of its great working atmosphere and environment. All the seniors are very kind, enthusiastic and caring to every teammate. I also work with some interns from other universities such as USM and UiTM and they are very friendly and helpful. When I need help they always have time to assist, advise and teach me although they are packed with their busy schedule. Every Telebort senior always treats every junior as a friend and we always go out to have meals together with chi-chat sessions. Therefore, Telebort is also a non-stressful working environment since it provides everyone with a well-balanced amount of work and the time is very flexible for me in doing my tasks with the Pomodoro technique and working in a team with high productivity. Also, there is a monthly team bonding at Telebort and we always keep on cultivating our good relationship with each other.
Throughout my six months of internship at Telebort, I am very inspired by everyone’s good working attitude and enthusiasm for Computer Science education. Before the era of the modern technology, there is common sense for most people that assumes only everyone can start to learn coding once he or she becomes an adult. Hence, Telebort is now here to overturn this fact by innovating the education field for the younger generation! All Telebort members have a strong determination in educating kids and teens to be smart coders so that anyone can know how to code without age limitations. Hence, the vision of Telebort has motivated me to do anything that I want to try such as teaching kids and teens coding that initially seems impossible for me to do, and finally anything that looks impossible will become possible!
Everyone has the immediate opportunity to work at Telebort as long as you are good or passionate in teaching kids and teens, and very interested to learn something new. So, make every challenge as an opportunity and come to join Telebort now!
