In celebration of this Merdeka month, Telebort is proud to announce the launch of our very first Coding Contest!
Coding for Merdeka aims to educate and engage both primary and secondary students in programming, fostering their interest in technology and coding concepts.
With the “Get Everybody Coding” (GEC) initiative in mind, we hope to:
  • Empower students to master simple yet essential digital skills
  • Encourage our fellow teachers to guide their students through this new learning process

Category A:
Primary School Students
Suitable for age 7-12
  • A fun yet interactive introduction to coding that is designed for young children.
  • Students will be using Tynker, a children-friendly interactive block based coding platform.
  • Tynker has loads of game-based tutorials that students can use to learn about various coding fundamentals.
  • End Goal: Students will learn how to apply basic coding concepts to create and build their very own animation on Tynker.
Category B:
Secondary School Students
Suitable for age 13-18
  • A gentle introduction to basic coding concepts through project building on a block-based coding platform.
  • Students will be using EduBlocks, an user-friendly block-based coding platform.
  • EduBlocks translates the coding blocks into Python syntax in real time, allowing them to familiarise themselves with syntax-based coding.
  • End Goal: Students will learn how to build their very own interactive program using basic coding concepts such as variables, loops, conditionals, etc.
Category C:
Schools & Teachers!
Suitable for age 13-18
  • Don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten about schools and fellow teachers! Participate in our mini contest, “Top 10 Influential Schools.”
  • Teachers are profound leaders that students look up to for guidance. This is where you get to help your students make the best out of our coding contest!
How Does It Work?
  • Assist and guide your students in successfully submitting their projects via our Google Form.
  • The more projects submitted by your students, the higher the chance of your school winning this mini-contest!
