"Coding is the language that bridges dreams with reality. So dream big, code passionately, and watch your visions come to life! The only limit is not the sky, but your imagination."
A warm welcome to all students and parents, here’s the latest class newsletter from Telebort! As you know, our Program D has reached its end and we couldn’t be more proud of every single one of you! Some may have struggled a little, come across a bump on the road every now and then but eventually, you successfully overcame these obstacles and we’d like to thank our students for giving your all in learning!
From the very first lesson, you dived head first into the world of coding, the world of JavaScript to be exact and we’re sure you must’ve encountered a few surprises along the way of your learning journey with us.
By now, it is safe to say that all of you have mastered this program through the hard work and effort you’ve put in to attend classes, understand the lessons and complete all exercises as well as projects, big or small. With that said, kudos to you for completing Program D and congratulations once more on your graduation!
Up next, we’re going to take a trip down memory lane to recap the progress we’ve made together in class before bringing your attention to a few more things that will intrigue you.
From class snippets to project showcasing during all the lessons you’ve had so far, we’d love to keep you updated and engaged throughout our inspiring educational journey together! In this edition of Telebort’s class newsletter, we’ll be sharing some moments from your class, the graduation ceremony, a few words from your instructors and the latest happenings in Telebort!
Throughout the entirety of this program, our beloved students have ventured into the realm of Javascript. What is Javascript? Let us indulge you! Javascript is a high-level programming language used mainly in building interactive web pages alongside HTML and CSS.
Picture a web page as a cake. In a cake, there are a few layers and it’s the same for a web page! HTML is the first layer; the content or structure. CSS is the second layer; it adds style to the structure. Finally, Javascript is the third layer; it provides logic for a web page to be interactive.
Variables was one of the first lessons for our students in this program. Think of a "variable" in JavaScript like a special box with a name. This box can hold numbers, words, or more. It helps the computer remember things while it works. For instance, you can put your age in a box named "myAge." It's like having a magic box to remember and use important information whenever needed. Just like you keep stuff in your box, computers use variables to store and remember information while they do tasks.
Our students also learned and made use of Loops! Imagine you have a big box of toys and you want to play with each one. Loops in JavaScript are like a magical hand that helps you pick up toys one by one and play with them without stopping. You don't have to pick up each toy separately – the loop does it for you! It's like a game where you say, "Play with all the toys!" and the magic hand keeps playing until there are no more toys left. Loops help computers do things over and over, like counting, showing pictures, or anything you want to repeat.
Towards the end of Program D, our students got the opportunity to build a Calorie Calculator for Part 1 of their Final Project! For this project, they had the chance to test and showcase all the coding skills and knowledge they’ve learned from Lesson 1 to Lesson 10. The web page would have to display relevant information such as “About You”, “Calculate your BMR”, “Calculate Calculate Daily Recommended Calorie Intake” and “Change your Weight” based on the data collected and we’re proud to say that our students have successfully completed this!
We’re more than delighted to learn of these achievements from our students and we imagine it to be the same for you parents, perhaps even more so. Once again, well done to our students for their creative effort and amazing capability of applying these skills to complete all of their projects!
This is a special section where our dedicated teachers share their thoughts, encouragement, and reflections on our class. Let's hear what they have to say:
“As I bid farewell to another group of exceptional individuals, I want to take a moment to celebrate the remarkable achievements of the students from our Saturday 2 PM, Program D class. Graduation is a testament to their dedication, hard work, and the tremendous strides they've made during their learning journey.
First and foremost, I'd like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to each and every one of them. This is a significant milestone, and they've earned it through their unwavering commitment and resilience.
Teaching this group of students has been an absolute honor. The enthusiasm and dedication they brought to the classroom made each session an enjoyable experience. It's not every day that an instructor has the privilege of teaching such a talented and motivated group.
What sets this class apart is not just their diligence, but their relentless pursuit of excellence. Throughout the course, these students demonstrated an admirable work ethic. They didn't shy away from challenges; instead, they embraced them as opportunities to grow.
One of the most striking aspects of this class is their intelligence. Nearly all of our graduates achieved scores above 80%, a testament to their ability to grasp complex concepts quickly. Their aptitude for learning is truly commendable.
But it's not just about the grades. These students are not just smart; they are also deeply understanding. They have a knack for diving into the core of concepts, asking insightful questions, and helping their peers understand better. This collaborative spirit is the hallmark of a successful learning environment.
In conclusion, the Saturday 2 PM, Program D class has set a high standard for future students. Their passion for learning, their diligence, and their exceptional understanding of the subjects have been a source of inspiration for us all. As they move forward, know that they carry with them the knowledge and skills to conquer any challenge that comes their way. Congratulations once again, graduates, and may their future be filled with continued success and new achievements!”
“Throughout our journey in Program D, I've witnessed each of you evolve into creators of dynamic and engaging web experiences. Remember, as you craft web pages that respond, adapt, and interact using the language of Javascript, you're not just coding; you're weaving narratives and conversations with users across the digital realm. The power to request, respond, and dynamically display reflects your ability to bring life to the static canvas of the internet.
Steve Jobs once said, 'Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work.' Embrace each challenge as an opportunity, for with every line of code, you're shaping the way people experience the web. So, as you continue to refine your skills, always remember that the magic of creation lies in your hands. Keep innovating, keep coding, and keep pushing boundaries – the web is your canvas, and your potential is limitless. You've got this!”
We hope these words from our instructors inspire you to keep striving for excellence and embracing the joy of learning. Remember, you are capable of achieving incredible things, and we are here to support you every step of the way!
National Women's Equality Day is an important observance in the United States that highlights the ongoing effort to ensure equal rights and opportunities for women. It's celebrated on August 26th each year to commemorate the day in 1920 when the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution was certified, giving women the right to vote.
This day reminds us of the struggles women faced in the past to gain basic rights and recognition. It's a time to reflect on the progress that has been made, as well as the work that still needs to be done to achieve full gender equality in various aspects of life, including education, employment, and leadership roles.
National Women's Equality Day is an opportunity for parents and students to learn about the history of women's rights movements, discuss the importance of gender equality, and promote awareness of ongoing challenges. While this historical event took place in the United States, it should still serve as a reminder that by working together, we can create a more just and equitable society for everyone, no matter where you’re from across the world.
Happy Women’s Equality Day!

Here’s where the fun’s at! Telebort ran its very first coding contest, Coding for Merdeka, in celebration of this special patriotic month. Nearly 200 participants of both primary and secondary school students have registered for this program! Coding for Merdeka received approval and support from JPN Pulau Pinang, Sarawak, Labuan, Johor and Perlis. We’d like to express our gratitude for believing in what we do here at Telebort.
This program serves as an introduction to fundamental coding concepts and principles for the first-time coding students. Participants will gain exposure to basic coding concepts and problem-solving techniques. Through the "Coding for Merdeka" theme, participants will learn about the role of technology in the nation's progress and development. They will be encouraged to contribute to the "Get Everybody Coding" initiative for a digitally empowered future.
Our Interactive Session was held on 18th August 2023 and we had nearly 150 participants who attended the session through Zoom and Facebook Live. Currently, participants are in the middle of project building and we are all excited to see their submissions this 31st August 2023.
Take a look at our Interactive Session Highlights on Telebort’s FB and IG page!
